In October 2020, Kurt Bermond’s (founder of ExecutorGenius) father-in-law passed away in a household accident. The family was blindsided by his sudden passing and unprepared for the executor’s role in closing the estate. Kurt started where everyone goes when learning something new: Google. He did not find any comprehensive tech solutions to help materially streamline the time requirements. Over the last couple years, Kurt has been exploring various solutions by interviewing potential customers, partners, investors and tech entrepreneurs. Since his father-in-law’s passing, Kurt’s grandmother and father passed away which further energized him to build solutions to help executors and grieving families.
